UPRM Student in International Short Film Festival

Gracias Dalton, a short film by UPRM student Damián Torres, was named semifinalist at the Romance in a Can’s International Film Festival, sponsored by the Alliance Française.  The short film competition, held in Santurce on March, included participants from other institutions like the UPR-Arecibo, UPR-Bayamón, Universidad del Sagrado Corazón, among others.

A student from the Computer Engineering Program, Torres created the short film as a part of his final project for the Film Certificate Program’s course CINE 4015: Creación de vídeos digitales (Digital Moviemaking). The short film features the story of Dalton, a young boy with color blindness (also known as Daltonism) who falls for a black girl and has to face his racist father.
