Office of Intellectual Property and Commercialization

The Office of Intellectual Property of the University of Puerto Rico ascribed to the Vice Presidency for Research and Technology facilitates the development, protection and commercialization of intellectual property such as research and inventions of the faculty, students and personnel of the University of Puerto Rico System

Vision: Develop inventions and ideas into new products, processes and services to improve Puerto Rico's economic competitiveness.

Mission: To protect the intellectual property developed at the University of Puerto Rico, facilitate transfer of the University's innovative technologies for public use, and interact with industry to commercialize discoveries made by the University while generating income and adhering to the University's mission.
